Mac Installer Error: "The program bw900.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close"

This error may occur if the bw900.exe file is corrupted.  Please follow the steps below to update the Mac Installer file and restore your bw900.exe file.

I. Restart the Mac.

II. Install the latest Mac Installer dmg file for BibleWorks 9. To do so, go here, follow the steps under section C, on that page, then return to this page.

III. Download and replace the the bw900.exe and bw900.map file files using the instructions below.

  1. Download this zip file:  
       
    http://www.bibleworks.com/support/et7br/bw900upd.zip
    and save it to your computer.
  2. Open a Finder window.
  3. Hold down the Option key and select Go | Library from the main menu.
  4. Then go to Library | Application Support | BibleWorks | Bottles | bibleworks | drive_c | Program Files | BibleWorks 9.
  5. Copy the bw900.exe and bw900.map file from inside the zip file you downloaded into the above folder, overwriting the existing files with the replace option.

IV. Check to see if BibleWorks will open properly. If it does not delete the bw900.ini and context files. This will reset the display of BibleWorks to the default settings.

1. Open Finder.

2. Go to Applications.

3. Hold down your Shift key and keep it held down while you do the following and until the BibleWorks Troubleshooting Options menu opens. When it does you can release the Shift key.

4. In the BibleWorks Troubleshooting Options menu check the options Delete the bw900.ini file and Delete Context Files.

5. Then click the button to Perform the selected options and run BibleWorks.

V. Open BibleWorks as you would normally.
